This PPV was so much better than I thought it was going to be. And (from what I have heard) it was the right choice to watch this first. We've got a lot to talk about, so let's get into it!
-Kicking Off: Christian Cage and Adam Copeland vs FTR
This match overall was SOOOOO good! I love how these 4 work together, and it was nice to see Cage/Copeland tag again. We did get a HUGE shock and see Beth come help Adam out.. so it will be nice to have her in the mix of it all. Cage/Copeland picked up the win, but there was a post match beat down.. in which Beth was attacked. Doesn't seem like this is over just yet. But this does lead the question, if Beth is in the mix... who will FTR have in their corner?
-Eddie Kingston vs. Big Bill
The match itself was okay overall, but I was just happy to see Eddie. He looks wonderful and is moving GREAT! While the ending felt a little off, I am so happy Eddie got the win. We almost saw a bit of a post match beat down.. but Hook came in for the save. Does this mean we will see Eddie and Hook team up?
-MJF vs. Mark Briscoe (Takes and Tacks)
I was already a little worried about this match but omg.. I wasn't ready. When I tell you these two are WILD, I mean that big time. There were parts of this match that was honestly hard to watch, but they put on one hell of a show. In the end, and in a shocking turn of events.. it was Briscoe that got the win. THE POP.. LOVE IT! Hopefully this is where it ends..
-The Hurt Syndicate vs. the Demand
I'll be honest, I wasn't excited about this match.. and I didn't get to see all of it. However what I did see was pretty good overall. What shocked me tho... was MVP taking the pin for a loss. Interesting to say the least.. but looking forward I wonder if this will move on.
-Mercedes Moné vs. Riho
Okay, I'll be honest.. I wasn't really thrilled about this match, but was really hoping for Riho. This match blew me away, because honestly.. I wasn't expecting it to be this good. These two women had me on the edge of my seat the entire match. There were a few close calls, but in the end... Mone got the win to retain her title. Moving forward, it will be exciting to see who will face Mone next.
-Kazuchika Okada vs. Konosuke Takeshita vs. Máscara Dorada
I wasn't excited about this match.. and it was another match I didn't exactly get to watch all of. I got the last 5 ish minutes, and I was pretty impressed. These three COOKED in what I saw, and I enjoyed it. However, it was Okada that picked up the win to retain his title. I really was pushing for Takeshita, and honestly.. I wouldn't be shocked if we saw him win at or by the next PPV.
-Jon Moxley vs. Darby Allin
Can we all agree that we are all already traumatized by Mox and Allin separately... and now a coffin match with them TOGETHER... you want to talk about INSANE. It was madness, bloody, and WILD the entire time. Mox throwing Darby on-top of the coffin SENT ME and I just knew he was done. And in a way, I was right. Mox was able to get Darby into the coffin and shut it, winning the match. WOW... also, it is noted that after the match (a little while later) we saw Darby come out of the coffin backstage and light Mox on fire. Am I shocked? No... and yes...
-Toni Storm vs. Thekla vs. Jamie Hayter vs. Kris Statlander
What a freakin match with these four women! I was very much blown away with how well they all worked together, and the feel of importance of the match overall. What I didn't expect was the ending. Sadly Toni Storm lost her title, but it was to Kris Stat! WHATTTTTTT.. one of the original girls in AEW and she has worked her butt of to deserve this title. I am very much happy with this choice, and feel she is going to do BIG things! While Toni is so wonderful, it was time for a new change within the division.
-Brodido vs. Young Bucks vs. JetSpeed vs. Don Callis Family
Ladder matches freak me out, but I actually enjoyed this. All teams are wonderful and I do feel like the tag team division is FIRED UP! If you've watched over the last couple of months, then you know what I am talking about.. but in the end.. it was Brodido retained their title. But the madness wasn't over yet. Jack Perry made himself known in the ring with The Young Bucks and the brawl was on. However the lights did go out and Luchasaurus came in for the save. I can't wait for this to unfold even more!
-Adam Page vs. Kyle Fletcher
WHAT A FREAKIN MATCH! I wasn't sure at first going into it, but after some time.. WOAH! These two torn the house down with their match. Kyle Fletcher is 110% a future champ. And this match proves it! I thought this was amazing.. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. However, in the end it was Adam Page that retained his title to end the match. Was I shocked? No.. but the match was just so damn good!
Overall: 8.4/10
