What a time we have had this weekend, and it's not even over yet. If you are reading this, that means it is Monday morning and all the madness is over. As for me, right now it is Sunday morning and tonight is Evolution! Those results and reviews will be posted Monday afternoon or at least before Raw. We've got ALOT to talk about.. so let's get into it.
**Just a small FIY and happiness... THE WYATT SICKS are your NEW tag team champs, and I am over the moon! The fact that it happened in Nashville makes my heart oh so happy.
All In Texas
I wasn't expecting this to be this good, but here we are. Let's get into the results!
-The Opps vs. The Death Riders
The match.. was pretty good. I don't exactly know what I expected, but it was interesting. We did see The Opps retain the title, but not without a questionable ending. Joe was taken out completely, and taken out via stretcher after being attacked. Where does this go moving forward? Hook return? Joe being out for a while? Hmm... Just a little strange on that part.
-Men's Casino Gauntlet Match
I thought this was very good overall. I won't go fully into detail with the matches, but I really enjoyed this. There were a couple of really good entries into this, but what really shocked me was Juice coming back. Also... clean shaved? What?? Did NOT see that coming at all. But.. in the end, we did see MJF win and it looks like he is coming for that AEW title. Or... will Bobby/Shelton/MVP have something to say about it? I could see an issue here.
-Daniel Garcia vs. Dustin Rhodes vs. Kyle Fletcher vs. Sammy Guevara
I wasn't expecting this heart break. But Adam Cole relinquished the TNT title due to injury, and came to the ring to talk about it. There were tears, and it wasn't ideal. The word "retire" came into play but wasn't announced. Sadly, Adam Cole did say that he would be gone for a while. Ouch. I wish Adam Cole the best during this time. The overall match was wonderful, and I fully expected Kyle to pick up the win for this. That wasn't the case. We did see a break up tease of Dustin and Sammy... and in a SHOCKING turn of events it was Dustin that picked up the win to get his first singles title in AEW. GOOD FOR HIM!
-The Young Bucks vs. Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay
The match was WILD and very much lived up to the hype of it all. There was ALOT on the line, and it showed. But in the end... it was Swerve and Will that picked up the win. They can now go for the title anytime they want.. and The Bucks lost their EVP title. I just saw this morning where Swerve and Will now have those titles as well. Hmm...
-Women's Casino Gauntlet Match
I (dare I say) thought this was better than the men's.. we saw Athena, Mina, Thunder Rosa, Syuri, and more. All the women were great, and the overall match was wonderful. However, in the end.. it was Athena that picked up the win to get a title show at the AEW Women's Championship. This.. this was much deserved!
-The Hurt Syndicate vs. JetSpeed vs. The Patriarchy
I just don't know about this one. I'm not happy with how the tag team situation is going overall. All teams are great, but I feel like this whole match was to now set up for the ending. I also fully expected to see MJF screw over The Hurt Syndicate.. but we did not this go. We did see Hurt Syndicate get the win to retain.. but after the match is what was insane. Christian Cage was pushed into Bobby almost costing them the match, and now they were after him. However FTR did get involved with this as well seeing as they were at ring side. We ALMOST saw FTR get Cage the same way they did Copeland but Kip and Nick Wayne made the save. In a SHOCKING turn of events.. Nick turned on Cage (FINALLY) and just like that... The Patriarchy is no more. Just before Nick was going to hit Cage with the chair, Copeland made his grand return to save him. Instead of telling Christian to "Go F*** Himself" he said "Go FIND Yourself" and left. Could we be seeing them team for one last time?? Someone did point out.. All Out is in Toronto this year, and there is about two months until then. That would be THE perfect build!
-Toni Storm vs. Mercedes Mone
This match had me on the edge of my seat the WHOLE damn time. While the match was good...I had this feeling I was going to be let down. But.. I was wrong. Toni Storm pulled off a win to retain her title. Now... I love Mone. I really do.. but I didn't think she was ready for this title. Having that many belts is too much, not being able to cut a good promo is another thing. With time, she will for sure get there.. and it will be great. Now, I know there will be some people to disagree and that is okay... that is just my personal opinion.
-Kenny Omega vs. Kazuchika Okada
I'll be perfectly honest.. I didn't watch this whole match. I took this time to take a shower because at this point, I just wasn't feeling that great. I did however catch the last like 10 minutes, and I enjoyed it very much. These two put on some amazing matches, and this was another one. I will fully go back and watch the whole thing later. In the end, Okada did pick up the win! This wasn't shocking to me, and I am alright with it. It will be interesting to see where this goes with Okada now.
-Jon Moxley vs. Adam Page
Not 2 minutes into this match, Page pulled out a fork and stabbed Mox like 20 times. I was full blown screaming because I did not see that coming straight out of the gate. This match was freaking INSANE from the start, and I loved it! We saw the most madness and I didn't even know what to do half the time. We saw more of the Death Riders come out...and thank goodness Page had help. We saw Bryan Danielson, a RETURNING Darby Allin, Swerve, and Ospreay! Ospreay was taken out at one point, and taken away on a stretcher. Long story short here, Mox wanted Page to see the title.. and told Shafir to unlock it. However Price Nana handcuffed her to the rail.. allowing Page to take advantage. Swerve helped as well giving Hangman the chain. Hangman then wrapped it around Mox's neck to "hang him" over the rope.. allowing Mox to tap out. WE HAVE A NEW CHAMP! And it was MUCH deserved! What a freakin time!
Overall: 8.9/10
================================================================
Saturday Night Main Event was okay overall. We did see Seth get hurt, but we do not know the full extent. It was bad enough for them to change the ending tho.. if that says anything. We will hopefully know more by Monday Night Raw, as Seth does have the Money in the Bank briefcase.
My Evolution post will be up hopefully before the afternoon!
until next time
xoxo,
Chels
