It's the fall out from this past Bash in Berlin.. and it DELIVERED! I don't know all what I expected, but it wasn't this. This was AMAZING! We've got a lot to talk about, so let's get into it!
-Mami kicked off Monday Night Raw after The Terror Twins were victorious on Saturday. Before Rhea could go into more about Liv Morgan and challenging her to a one-on-one match, she was interrupted.. of course. Dom did everything he could to talk crap back and forth.. however it was all a set up. Liv attacked Mami from behind and chaos erupted. However during all of this, Rhea ended up getting caught up in the ropes which made it easy for a beat down. It wasn't long until Damian came to the recuse to make the save. It appeared to have injured Mami, and she was PISSED. With over a month to go until the next PLE, I can see the point to push this out as much as possible.
Before Raw started it is noted that Wade Barrett introduced Joe Tessitore to the announce team. While I wasn't sure about him (I am a die hard Michael Cole fan) he is actually pretty good, and has something about him that I can't exactly put my finger on. I can't wait to see more from him!
-Otis, Akira Tozawa and Maxxine Dupri vs. American Made
Okay, let me rant for a moment. The team of Otis, Tozawa, and Maxxine is living RENT FREE in my head. Seriously, I love them so much and I need more each week. After Otis/Tozawa faced The Creed Brothers about a month ago.. I was hooked. They went from this team of just silliness to actually being GOOD and it making sense. I feel the same way about Maxxine, she has grown SO MUCH over the last few months and I am so proud. This match (overall) was very fun and worth the watch. It could be taken serious, and at the same time was very fun here and there. In the end, Ivy Nile was able to recover and get Maxxine in the Dragon Sleeper, resulting in Maxxine to tap out.
After the match, we saw Gable on the mic talk about the Wyatt Sicks and then issued a challenge for an eight-man tag Street Fight match next week. It was then the lights went out, and Uncle Howdy appeared with a mic in hand. This popped me like something serious.
"375 days. My sanity crumbled. My path is in the void now. The silence is deafening, But I can still hear it. My life is no longer mine, So if this is the path you have chosen, Who am I to neglect you and your undoing. You gambled your very being, and we will collect the debt."
The challenge was accepted. I cannot wait for this match, but who will all be in it? Will Uncle Howdy be protected until possibly Bad Blood? Only time will tell! Also.. you can't tell me that Taylor didn't sound JUST LIKE Windham in this. It was creepy, yet comforting.
- Zelina Vega vs. Shayna Baszler
Apart of me wants to put.. nope. But I love Zelina, and really want another push for her in the near future. I just don't like this feud at all. I take nothing away from either women, I just can't put my finger on it right now. In the end, Shayna did get the win. Of course there was a post show beat down on Zelina before Lyra came out for the same. This did set up another match for next week, and after the backstage talk with Zelina/Lyra it looks like we might see Nattie making her return! This match actually might be pretty good!
-CM Punk Promo
We saw a pretty damn good promo from CM Punk after his win at Bash in Berlin. He assumed that Drew was behind him and this was a new start basically. Punk went on to say that he wants to challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship. I won't lie, I wouldn't mind seeing this down the line. McIntyre then attacked Punk on the announce table.. resulting in breaking Punks bracelet and shoving it in his mouth. After the beat-down, we saw Punk being taken out on s stretcher but it wasn't long before Drew kept the beat down going. I could see this resulting in Punk being out for a week, and then resulting in a Hell in a Cell match for the two. I cannot wait for this! But who will be the overall winner in this??
-Dragon Lee vs. Ilja Dragunov vs. Dominik Mysterio
This match was FREAKIN AMAZING! We did see (halfway through) Carlito interfered for Dom..however this backfired as Damian Priest made the save, taking both Dom and Carlito out of the situation. Dragon Lee and Ilja tore the house down with the final few moments of this match and if I am being honest.. I need more of it please. In the end, we saw Ilja take the win and move on to the finals.
-Damage CTRL vs. Unholy Union (Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill at Ringside)
I like both of these teams, and have been so torn on this for a few weeks. Damage CTRL has been on FIRE lately and I am loving it for the most part. I love this "rebrand" for them and it's working. However I also LOVE the Unholy Union and really want them to be used in a proper way moving forward. I feel their tag team title reign was a gimme in their home country, and the end of the reign was them really finding their "thing". This 3 way situation is really heating up and I would love to see more of it. In a shocking turn of events it was Unholy Union that took the win.
-Sami Zayn is Coming for Gunther's World Heavyweight Championship
WE GOT SAMI BACK! His return came after Gunther came to the ring to give a little promo after his win over Randy Orton at Bash In Berlin.. If you haven't watched that match, I HIGHLY recommend that you do. AMAZING.
When Sami told Gunther he wanted a title shot, Gunther said no. However, Sami didn't give up without a fight on this. We now have multiple people ready to take on Gunther, but who will be the one to go first? Are we going to get a match to determine? I really hope so!
-Braun Strowman vs. Sheamus vs. Ludwig Kaiser
Sadly, Big Bronson Reed has Covid, and wasn't able to be in this match. This really sucks, because I was pushing for him so much on this. However, in his place was Braun! This is WILD considering that the two beat the living shat out of each other last week in such an intense match. This match was so good in my opinion. All three work very well together and the chemistry is there! I was fully expecting Ludwig to win this, but it just wasn't the case. In the end, it was Braun that took the win! This fatal 4 way is going to be something else.
-Jey Uso and Damian Priest vs. Finn Bálor and JD McDonagh
Thought out Raw we saw it being teased that Rhea was cashing in a favor for DPs tag team partner. This would result in Jey Uso coming to help out Damian. I loved this, it was too cute. This match was pretty good overall. Of course, we saw "the Judgement Day" get involved and it wasn't long until Mami showed up limping and all to take out Liv. And boy did she.. In the end it was Jey Uso that pinned JD for the win. As much as I hate to admit it, this feud is really growing on me. Also.. when the heck are Finn and JD going to defend their titles? Because that's kinda bull shat. They've had them for like a month? I almost forgot who even had them.
Overall: 9.7/10
