What a PLE.... I mean, really. I don't know how to even start to be honest. But let's get into it!
I didn't watch the pre-show like I wanted, due to a little one needing a bath. But I kind of got the run down on Twitter.
-Men's Money in the Bank Match:
I honestly feel like them coming out too FOREVER, but that's just me. I thought it was pretty dang good over all. Ladder matches of any kind make me nervous, but I think that's just the worry of seeing people get hurt. I felt that everyone was showcased very well, and was able to show their abilities very well. I did feel it was also very intense. Jey Uso was a major favorite to win this match, but after Drew was put in as well I believe that faded a bit. In the end, we saw Drew become Mr. Money in the Bank.. and we all know what that means. Also.. I saw that a lot of people were upset that we didn't get the Wyatt Sicks. There was A LOT of speculation but nothing every really set in stone.
Sami Zayn vs Bron Breakker (Intercontinental Championship)
This was a match I very much enjoyed. It was very hard hitting and I felt the importance of the match. I personally was conflicted with my vision of the ending. I kind of wanted Bron to win, but do feel it's too early for a title.. However, I am also a major fan of Sami, and him being in his home. I do feel this match really showcased Bron and his ability overall, he is very talented and feel this is just the beginning of his career. After a HELL of a battle between the two, Sami hit Bron with a Helluva Kick and pinned him for the win.
We got to see Trish Stratus (as she was the host) come out to the stage. During this time she introduced John Cena! His pop was wonderful and it was exciting to see him again. However, this time did feel different. I told my husband, "what in the world is he doing, and why is he going to the ring". But his towel gave it away. John Cena officially announced his retirement, and let us know that next year..that it's over. He will be at the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and Wrestlemaina. They will all be his last. This really hurt, I am not gonna lie.. John Cena has been a big part of my wrestling childhood. It's been a long journey, and I am happy for him over all.
Damian Priest vs Seth Rollins (World Heavyweight Championship)
Mannnnn... what a shit show. I don't know what exactly happened with this match, something for sure felt off. You could see the tense moments of both DP and Seth looking to the stage, anticipating Drew for a cash in. Rollins hit a falcon arrow, and the ref hit a 2 out.. when it was clearly a 3 count for a pin.. DP did not kick out at all.. nor try. The crowd was PISSED and they let everyone know it. What the heck happened? Like clock work, Drew did come out and DID cash in his MIB. The bell ring and it was now a triple threat. And you know what that means.. no disqualification. Punk did show up.... and of course, cost Drew the title. DP got the pin to retain. What a total waste of a men's mib match. This was pretty stupid in my opinion. Now.. we have a hell of a story line. A set up of CM Punk, Drew, and Seth.. because now Seth cannot have another title match as long as DP is champ. My God.
Also... anyone else remember before hand in the "club house", where Finn had a suspicious look on his face? What was that about? I was FOR SURE that Finn was going to turn. Maybe tomorrow on Raw?
Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Shit show seems to be the word of the night. I'm not gonna lie, this was hard to watch. I was on the edge of my seat, worried to death about some of these moves onto the ladders. Thankfully no one was seriously hurt! THE bump of the night had to be Chelsea Green. I mean... WOAH. Let's not forget Zoey hitting her head on the ladder.. I was SCREAMING. While I was SURE that Naomi was going to end up winning.. it was Tiffy that grabbed the briefcase, getting the win! For sure, the right call!
The Bloodline vs Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and Kevin Owens
I wasn't happy that this match ended the PLE. I don't think it was right call, it should have been DP and Seth. However this match was pretty brutal, and hard hitting. You could feel the intensity. Of course, like clockwork the ref got "knocked out" and it was time for the cheating. Everyone kind of just went crazy on this, and it was awesome! Loa missed a low blow, which popped me. How do you mess that up?? There was so much to this match but honestly just felt like recycled work. Don't we see crap like this on ALL Bloodline matches?? Solo pinned Rhodes.. which I am not gonna lie... is STUPID. That was the WORST call. But I can also see how that might set up for Solo and Cody at Summerslam. We are less than 4 weeks away.
There was so extra surprises or returns.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overall: 7/10
We have A LOT going on and feel that Monday Night Raw will be an intense one.
-What will Drew have to say after his failed cash in? Also it's been seen that he LOST IT post show on Adam Pierce and they had to be separated.
-How will Seth react to CM Punk costing him the title?
-Will we see more of Chad/Wyatt Sicks?
-Will Bron go on a rampage?
Only time will tell!
What was YOUR favorite part of Money in the Bank 2024?
xoxo,
Chels
